What are the CNC machine tool systems

CNC machine tool system is a kind of tool system, which is divided into boring and milling CNC tool system and lathe CNC tool system.

In addition to the characteristics of ordinary tools, the tool system of NC machine tool mainly has the following requirements:

① The accuracy requires high tool change accuracy and positioning accuracy.

② Durability requires high productivity and high cutting speed, so tool durability is required.

③ Rigidity requires that NC machining often has large feed rate, high-speed and strong cutting, and the tool system is required to have high rigidity.

④ Chip breaking, chip curling and chip removal require automatic processing, and the chip breaking and chip removal performance of the tool is good.

⑤ The loading, unloading and adjustment of the tool system shall be convenient.

⑥ Standardization, serialization and generalization this "three modernizations" is convenient for the installation of tools on the turret and tool magazine, simplifies the structure and action of the manipulator, reduces the manufacturing cost of tools, reduces the number of tools, expands the application scope of tools, and is conducive to NC programming and tool management.

They are mainly composed of two parts: one is the tool part, and the other is the clamping tool parts such as tool handle (tool handle), connecting rod (connecting handle) and collet. In the 1970s, the tool system was mainly based on the overall structure. In the early 1980s, the tool system with modular structure (divided into turning and boring and milling) was developed. In the late 1980s, the tool system with general modular structure (universal interfaces such as turning, milling and drilling) was developed. The modular tool system separates the handle and working part of the tool into various systematic modules, and then forms various tools with different uses and specifications through intermediate modules of different specifications. At present, there are dozens of structures of modular tool systems in the world. The main difference lies in the different positioning and locking modes between modules.
